During a 5-month period, in the community of La Palmera, Florida, Copán, a successful field school took place, which had a transformative impact. During this time, 13 participating families managed to harvest 19,600 pounds of tomatoes, with a value of L130,000 (approximately $5,300 USD). The main objective of this initiative was to teach and apply good agricultural practices, technify processes, improve marketing, and share knowledge with other community members. Throughout these months, the families acquired valuable skills in agriculture, optimizing the use of resources, managing pests and diseases, and improving yields. Additionally, advanced agricultural technologies were implemented, and the marketing strategy was strengthened. This program not only benefited the participating families but also had a positive impact on the community as a whole, boosting agricultural productivity, incomes, and fostering collaboration among the members of La Palmera.
